Durham County Board of Commissioners Holds Regular Meeting at 7 p.m. on October 26
The Durham County Board of Commissioners will hold a regular meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, October 26, in the commissioners' meeting room on the second floor of the Durham County Administration Building at 200 East Main Street; the meeting will also offer an online participation option. According to the meeting notice issued by the county government, residents may attend in person without registering, or watch the live stream and replay via the Durham Television Network, the county government website, or the county government's YouTube channel; online participants must enter their full name when joining the video meeting, and speakers must submit a speaker form to the clerk in advance or register before the meeting. This regular meeting is the next one following the October 12 meeting, at which the board approved a number of appropriations in areas including public health, youth services, the museum, and land conservation; the county government said after that meeting that the official minutes are the authoritative record of those decisions. Regular meetings of the county board typically take up budget execution, public service contracts, and community projects, and residents may comment on agenda items at the meeting. The agenda for October 26 has been posted in English and Spanish as usual, and residents can review it in advance on the county government website. For Durham residents, this meeting is a public channel for speaking directly to elected county officials one week before Election Day.
