The Austin Mosaic Festival opened on Monday, October 26 and will run through October 31, open daily from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Mosaic Workshop at 729 Airport Boulevard, free to attend throughout. This is the third mosaic festival held by the studio; the weeklong event brings together artists from around the world, including Koko Mosaico from Italy, Jeff Barrows from Brazil, and CELSO from Puerto Rico, with artist talks and special workshops during the festival. Visitors can drop in during open studio hours to make their own mosaic pieces by hand, join a collaborative creation project, or view murals created by Jeff Barrows, CELSO, J Muzacz, and the studio team; every mosaic piece comes with a free grouting kit.
