Missouri running back Ahmad Hardy to resume practice this week, coach announces October 25
On October 25, University of Missouri head football coach Eli Drinkwitz announced that star running back Ahmad Hardy will resume practice this week — his first time back on the practice field since a shooting in the offseason left him injured. Drinkwitz said on social media: 'After consulting with our medical team, Ahmad Hardy will return to practice this week, and the medical team will determine when he can return to games.' Hardy was shot in May after attending a concert in Mississippi and underwent surgery on his leg; he has not played a game this season. In 2025, Hardy led the SEC in rushing with 1,649 yards and scored 16 rushing touchdowns, earning first-team All-America honors as the core of Missouri's offense. Drinkwitz has previously said Hardy needs about two weeks of ramped-up practice before returning to games, so there is still no firm date for his return.
