Michigan opens statewide in-person early voting on October 25, every community offering at least nine days
On October 25, in-person early voting opened statewide in Michigan, giving voters a window of more than nine days before the November 3 general election. Under the state's arrangement, every community provides at least nine days of early voting and some offer more, so voters can cast ballots ahead of time instead of crowding into Election Day. Michigan voters wrote early voting into the state constitution in 2022, making it a constitutional right that cannot be removed by a passing policy change. Voters can look up their community's early voting sites and hours and plan their trip in advance. For voters, early voting means avoiding the Election Day rush and voting on a weekend at a more relaxed pace.
