Falcons beat 49ers 29-20 at home on October 25, handing San Francisco its first loss of the season
On October 25, the Atlanta Falcons beat the San Francisco 49ers 29-20 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, handing the visitors their first loss of the season and dropping San Francisco to 6-1. It was a mistake-filled day for the 49ers: quarterback Brock Purdy was intercepted twice, his first multi-interception game since Week 12 of last season; running back Kailon Black fumbled on a run and nearly lost the ball; and tight end George Kittle fumbled after a catch on a desperate late drive, with Atlanta recovering to end any comeback hopes. Falcons kicker Nick Folk hit a 31-yard field goal inside the final two minutes to stretch the lead to nine and seal the win. The victory gave Atlanta a statement result in front of its home crowd, while the 49ers head into their bye week with a list of problems to fix.
