In a Big Ten men's soccer match in College Park on the night of October 24, No. 11 Maryland beat Ohio State 1-0 to take all three points on Senior Night. Albi Ndrenika scored the game's only goal in the 36th minute, a hard shot into the bottom left corner. Goalkeeper Laurin Mack made seven saves, two of them in the first half, to preserve the shutout.
Maryland outshot Ohio State 8-5 in the first half and withstood the Buckeyes' second-half push to hold the 1-0 lead to the final whistle. The win moves the Terrapins to 10-3-1 on the season and 4-3-1 in Big Ten play.
Senior Night is a college sports tradition in which teams honor their graduating players before the game, and a victory made for a fitting farewell.
