St. Louis Blues Shut Out 4-0 at Home by the Carolina Hurricanes: Kochetkov Makes 24 Saves
On the night of October 24, the St. Louis Blues were shut out 4-0 at home at Enterprise Center by the Carolina Hurricanes. Hurricanes goaltender Pyotr Kochetkov made 24 saves for his first shutout of the season and his seventh straight win to open the campaign, one shy of tying Frederik Andersen's 2021-22 franchise record for consecutive wins to start a season. After a scoreless first 20 minutes, the second period turned quickly: Sean Walker broke through at 4:45, Jesperi Kotkaniemi scored off a Jordan Martinook pass just 20 seconds later, and Logan Stankoven added a breakaway goal to make it 3-0. At 4:30 of the third, Nikolaj Ehlers scored a power-play goal from a Sebastian Aho feed to end the suspense. Aho and Seth Jarvis each had two assists as Carolina closed its five-game road trip at 3-1-1 and improved to 9-2-2. Blues goaltender Joel Hofer made 35 saves, but the loss snapped the team's two-game winning streak in the opener of its five-game homestand, dropping St. Louis to 5-5-1.
