Organizers described the festival as a fixture of the Upper West Side's fall season, with street stalls offering original work by local artisans and activities for children. The stretch sits in the heart of the Upper West Side, within walking distance for nearby residents and reachable by subway for visitors from other neighborhoods. For New Yorkers, the festival offered an autumn community outing close to home, and a storefront window for local small businesses to meet their neighbors directly.
