The Seattle chapter of the North American Taiwanese Engineers Association, together with the Taiwanese Junior Chamber of Commerce Seattle, the Taiwanzonian community and the University of Washington Taiwanese Graduate Student Association, held the 'U.S. Taiwan Tech Connect 2026' event at the University of Washington on October 24 under the theme 'Bridging AI: Taiwan Innovation Meets Seattle Tech.' The event drew nearly 200 participants from dozens of companies, including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Apple, NVIDIA, Meta and Databricks, and from the Taiwanese tech community; the report was published on October 28. Representatives of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in San Francisco and the Seattle Culture Center also attended. Event organizer Sun Gui-zhi said the program specially featured career roundtables and a digital interaction platform, bringing together 38 senior executives, 16 managers and 27 students for cross-generational dialogue. Huang Ming-shih, president of the association's Seattle chapter, stressed that by integrating overseas-community resources and inviting Taiwanese youth to join, the chapter not only builds an in-depth exchange platform for U.S.-Taiwan tech talent but also lays a foundation for future industry cooperation and technical dialogue. The first panel brought together executives from Twilio, Microsoft, Databricks and CoreWeave to discuss talent transformation in the AI era; the second panel featured product professionals from Google, Databricks and Amazon backgrounds analyzing the direction of product development from large language models toward agentic AI.
