Follow-up: WNBA Finals Game 4: Valkyries Beat Dream 67-62 in Atlanta to Tie the Series 2-2

Game 4 of the WNBA Finals was played on October 24 at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, where the Golden State Valkyries beat the Atlanta Dream 67-62 on the road to tie the best-of-seven series at 2-2. The Dream had led the series 2-1 and could have taken a commanding lead with a home win; instead the teams are level again.

Golden State built its advantage before halftime, outscoring Atlanta 16-11 in the first quarter and 26-15 in the second for a 42-26 lead, the largest halftime deficit Atlanta has faced in this postseason. The Dream won both second-half quarters, 19-12 and 17-13, but missed two three-point attempts on their final possession. Valkyries head coach Natalie Nakase changed her starting lineup, moving Tiffany Hayes and Kaila Charles into the first five, and the defensive response followed.

Gabby Williams led Golden State with 17 points, five rebounds and two steals, and Veronica Burton added 13 points. Center Kiah Stokes grabbed 16 rebounds, eight of them on the offensive glass, and blocked three shots; her 14 blocks through four Finals games surpass the previous Finals record of 12 held by Brittney Griner and Sylvia Fowles.

For Atlanta, Rhyne Howard scored a game-high 19 points on the same day she earned her first career All-WNBA selection. Angel Reese was held to eight points and nine rebounds on 2-of-12 shooting with six turnovers, her first game of these Finals without a double-double, after averaging 25.5 points and 14 rebounds in the Dream's wins in Games 2 and 3. Atlanta committed 18 turnovers, which Golden State converted into 16 points.

The result guarantees a Game 6 for the first time since the Finals moved to a best-of-seven format in 2025. Game 5 is scheduled for Monday, October 26, at Chase Center in San Francisco.
