FBI Releases Video of Tactical Special Agent Bomb Technician Training in Alaska
WASHINGTON — The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) on October 22 released a training video on its official channel documenting a tactical special agent bomb technician training hosted in Alaska by the FBI's Anchorage Field Office and the bureau's Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG).
According to the FBI, the training brought together an elite group of tactical special agent bomb technicians (TSABTs) from across the country to sharpen readiness and strengthen response capabilities in complex environments. The video, about one minute long, shows technicians in protective gear working with specialized equipment, and is also posted in the video library on the FBI's website.
Bomb technicians are a specialty role among FBI special agents. In its public materials, the bureau says its special agent bomb technicians respond to and investigate actual and threatened bomb incidents in the United States and internationally, and train extensively for that work. The FBI stations bomb technicians at its field offices and supports bomb squads at other federal, state and local agencies through training such as its Hazardous Devices School.
