Chinese American Troupe H.T. Chen & Dancers Performs Excerpts from 'Mott Street' in New York on the Evening of Oct. 24
At 8 p.m. on Oct. 24, Chinese American dance troupe H.T. Chen & Dancers will perform excerpts from “Mott Street” at the Ailey Citigroup Theater in Midtown Manhattan, New York City, with tickets priced at $30. The performance is one of the programs of the American Dance Guild's 70th Anniversary Season Festival, and “Mott Street” premiered in 1984. Mott Street is one of the most emblematic streets in Manhattan's Chinatown, where generations of Chinese immigrants have opened shops, made a living and put down roots, and the street itself is a miniature history of New York's Chinese community. Named after the street, the performance brings the community memories of Chinese immigrants to the stage. According to the events calendar of the Asian American / Asian Research Institute at the City University of New York, the performance is one of that day's Asian cultural events in New York on Oct. 24, at 405 West 55th Street.
