Omaha Westside Routs Millard South 41-17 on Oct. 23 as Warren Throws 4 Touchdown Passes to Lead Team to 9-0
On the evening of Oct. 23, a marquee Nebraska high school football matchup played out in Omaha: the Omaha Westside Warriors routed the previously unbeaten Millard South Patriots 41-17 on the road, improving their season record to 9-0 and further cementing their status as Nebraska's top team. University of Missouri quarterback commit Braylen Warren completed 11 of 24 passes for 250 yards and 4 touchdown passes, and also rushed for 58 yards and a touchdown, accounting for 5 touchdowns in all. Luke Weiss and Bryce Johnson each caught two touchdown passes, with Weiss scoring on a 67-yard long pass in the fourth quarter. Millard South's five-star quarterback and University of Nebraska commit Trae Taylor completed 13 of 30 passes for 199 yards and was intercepted 3 times, while also rushing for 38 yards and a touchdown. Westside pulled away decisively with a 31-7 second half, and Taylor's interception proved to be the turning point, after which Warren scored on a 4-yard rushing touchdown to make it 24-17.
