Illinois Beats Oregon 21-10 at Home, Ending Ducks' Big Ten Road Streak
On October 24, college football delivered a marquee matchup as Illinois beat Oregon 21-10 at home for a signature win. The game was played at Memorial Stadium at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Illinois took control with a strong second-half performance.
Oregon hung with the hosts in the first half but stalled on offense after halftime, unable to find an effective way to score. Illinois leaned on a steady ground game to drain the clock and control possession, keeping Oregon's comeback from ever taking shape. Late in the game, Illinois quarterback Clayton found wide receiver Collin Dixon for a touchdown that essentially sealed the win, coming with about two and a half minutes left and pushing the lead to double digits.
The final score stood at 21-10 as Illinois won in front of its home fans. The loss was the first Big Ten road defeat of Oregon head coach Dan Lanning's tenure. For Illinois, the win lifts team morale and lays a solid foundation for the Big Ten schedule ahead.
