Hornets Beat Heat 115-110 at Home as Miller’s 34 Points Lead Bounce-Back Win
On the night of October 24, 2026, the Charlotte Hornets beat the Miami Heat 115-110 at Spectrum Center, bouncing back quickly from the previous night's blowout loss. A sellout crowd of 19,611 attended.
Hornets guard Miller went 10-for-29 from the field and 11-for-12 at the line for 34 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Schroder scored 25, Reed 23 and Allen 20, including a key four-point play late that stretched the lead to 108-104. Charlotte shot 16-for-43 from three-point range.
The teams were tied 31-31 after one quarter, and Charlotte led 66-58 at halftime. A 24-7 third-quarter run pushed the Hornets ahead 92-70, and they led 96-75 entering the fourth. Miami answered with a 25-4 surge in the final period, tying the game at 100, 102 and 104, but never took the lead. For the Heat, Mitchell had 22 points and 10 assists, Adebayo 20, Larson 15, Thompson 14 and Portis 13; Antetokounmpo was held to 14 points and fouled out with 1:57 remaining. Mitchell's three-pointer with 8.1 seconds left cut the margin to 113-110, before Allen hit two free throws to seal it.
Charlotte improves to 2-1, while Miami falls to 0-3 to start the season. The night before, the Hornets had lost their home opener 128-81 to the Atlanta Hawks — by the Associated Press's accounting, the fifth-largest margin of defeat in franchise history — with Miller scoring only 6 points.
