USA Ultimate Nationals Reach Knockout Play in San Diego on Oct. 24: 12 of 48 Teams Eliminated
On October 24, 2026, the USA Ultimate National Championships in San Diego moved into their second day, with pool play across all three divisions completed on Friday, October 23, and bracket play starting at 9 a.m. Saturday.
According to USA Ultimate, weather-related field closures delayed the tournament's start by a day, but Friday brought near-ideal conditions and play went smoothly. Twelve of the 48 teams have been eliminated from title contention — four in each division — with the remaining teams advancing to the pre-quarterfinal round. The organizers said day one featured several key upsets and tight contests that showcased the field's overall strength. Bracket play in all divisions is available via the association's media partners' livestreams.
San Diego is hosting the nation's top ultimate teams for the three-day championship, with titles to be decided in the weekend's knockout rounds. For fans, the nationals are both the season's highest level of competition and a window on the sport's growth in the United States.
