Hawai'i Routs Northern Illinois 56-21 on the Road: Three TD Passes From Alejado, Three TD Runs From Rice
On Saturday, October 24, 2026, the University of Hawai'i Rainbow Warriors routed Northern Illinois University 56-21 on the road in a cross-country matchup. According to the Associated Press, Hawai'i quarterback Micah Alejado threw three touchdown passes and running back Devon Rice ran for three touchdowns, the pair powering the offense.
The game was a long-haul trip for Hawai'i, which traveled 4,255 miles from Honolulu to DeKalb, Illinois. Hawai'i now stands at 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the Mountain West; after struggling in conference play, the lopsided win injects confidence for the second half of the season.
Northern Illinois could not contain Hawai'i's offense at home, and the margin kept growing after halftime. Hawai'i returns home next to keep climbing the conference standings, with the cross-country victory regarded as the team's most convincing performance of the season.
