Texans Receiver Tank Dell Activated on October 24: Set to Play Sunday for the First Time in 22 Months
On Saturday, October 24, the Houston Texans, in Harris County, Texas, formally activated wide receiver Tank Dell to the active roster, and he is set to play for the first time in 22 months when Houston hosts the New York Giants on Sunday, October 25. Dell suffered a severe left knee injury in Week 16 of the 2024 season against the Kansas City Chiefs, dislocating his kneecap and tearing his ACL, MCL and LCL along with his meniscus while making a 30-yard touchdown catch, and he missed all of last season. He began this season on injured reserve; the team opened his 21-day practice window on October 6, and he returned to practice the next day. Head coach DeMeco Ryans said this week that Dell's explosiveness is unchanged and that defenders have found him a handful in practice. A third-round pick in 2023, Dell has 98 catches for 1,376 yards and 10 touchdowns in 25 career games and is a key weapon in the Texans' offense. His return is a major lift for a Houston team looking to rebound.
