CPSC Warns PowRyte Pressure Washers Lack Ground-Fault Protection, Posing Electrocution Risk
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued a warning on October 22 (No. 27-036): the plugs on PowRyte electric pressure washers lack ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) immersion protection, creating a risk of electric shock and electrocution if they contact water. The CPSC urged consumers to stop using the products immediately and to destroy them following its guidance.
The pressure washers were made by Powell Works, Inc. of China and sold in the United States through platforms including Amazon and eBay, priced between $92 and $320. The CPSC said the company had not responded to its recall request.
