Tennessee Swimming Posts Multiple Wins at Queens Quad-Meet; Zettel Takes Two With Personal Bests
CHARLOTTE, North Carolina — The University of Tennessee swimming and diving team turned in a strong performance on October 23 at the Queens Quad-Meet at the Levine Aquatic Center, earning multiple victories and top-five finishes.
Nicole Zettel led the Lady Vols with two wins, opening with a personal-best 1:58.69 in the 200 butterfly before another personal best of 1:59.09 in the 200 individual medley. Sophie Brison earned her second win of the season in the 200 backstroke in 1:54.87 and placed third in the 200 freestyle in 1:49.16. Freshman Matea Gigovic won the 100 butterfly in 52.85 for her first collegiate victory; Kimmy Shannon was second in the 200 IM in a season-best 1:59.42; and Tori Brostowitz was second in the 100 breaststroke in 1:01.67.
For the men, Kauã Marinho placed second in the 100 freestyle in 43.80. The university athletics department published the full results the same day.
