Washington State Women's Soccer Draws 1–1 with San Diego State, Both Goals from the Penalty Spot
On the night of October 22, the Washington State University women's soccer team drew 1–1 with San Diego State at the Lower Soccer Field in Pullman.
The first half ended scoreless, with Washington State attempting 7 shots and San Diego State 9 shots, 2 on target. In the 56th minute, a San Diego State player handled the ball while defending a shot by Delaney Hawkins; after video review confirmed the handball, senior Lexi Lee converted the penalty into the lower right corner for a 1–0 Washington State lead. In the 85th minute, WSU goalkeeper Ashlyn Dvorak fouled Lily Boudet to concede a penalty, and Victoria Miller converted — Dvorak guessed the right direction, but the ball went in under her — leveling the match at 1–1.
Dvorak finished with 6 saves, her fourth straight match with at least 5. Reagan Brisendine and Hawkins each took 5 shots, both setting personal season highs. Washington State plays its final home match of the season at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 25, with a pregame ceremony honoring four seniors including Dvorak.
