Multnomah County Elections: All Registered Voters Should Have Received Ballots by Now
PORTLAND, Oregon — With 11 days left before the November 3 general election, Multnomah County Elections says all registered voters in the county, home to Portland, should have received their mail ballots by Thursday, October 22, and anyone who has not should contact the elections office right away.
Elections Director Tim Scott said on October 23 that voters can call 503-988-VOTE (8683) or use the county's online Order Ahead Replacement Ballot Service, choosing to have a replacement mailed or to pick one up at either of two voter service sites. Scott said about 7 percent of ballots across the county have been returned so far, putting early returns on par with the 2022 midterms: "We're seeing strong, early returns — lots of ballots coming back in drop sites, as well as through the mail." Voters can also track their ballot through the Secretary of State's website.
Key dates: the deadline to request a mailed replacement ballot is 7 p.m. on October 28, after which replacements are available for in-person pickup only; officials recommend mailing ballots back by October 27 or using an official drop box by 8 p.m. on November 3. Multnomah County voters will also use ranked-choice voting for the first time in the County Chair and District 2 Commissioner contests, ranking candidates by preference rather than choosing just one.
