Wyoming Governor Gordon to Join Skilled Trades Panel at Laramie County Community College on Oct. 28
The Wyoming governor's office announced in a media advisory that Governor Mark Gordon will give brief remarks and take part in a moderated panel, "Wyoming's Next Generation of Skilled Talent," at a luncheon at Laramie County Community College (LCCC) on Oct. 28, from 12:30 to 2:15 p.m., in the Clay Pathfinder ANB Bank Leadership Conference Center, rooms 108/109. The governor's arrival is estimated at 1:30 p.m.
Gordon will be joined by LCCC President Dr. Joe Schaffer and Walker Kimball, Bechtel's senior vice president and head of construction. Panelists will explore early career exposure, clearer pathways to the trades, and how education and industry can help young people pursue skilled careers. The event is sponsored by Bechtel, LCCC, Western Community College, the Wyoming Business Alliance and the Wyoming Innovation Partnership.
The sponsors noted that Wyoming's skilled tradespeople built the energy, infrastructure and industries that power the state, yet too few young people see skilled trades as a first-choice career. The event is open to the public with an RSVP; media are asked to RSVP by 10 a.m. MT on Oct. 28 for press access and reserved seating.
