Avalon Updates Moorings-for-Sale List: Private Moorings May Be Sold With Permit Transfer
The City of Avalon, on Catalina Island in Los Angeles County, California, has updated its list of Avalon Harbor moorings for sale, with the latest version dated Sept. 29, 2026. Owners of private moorings in the harbor may sell them, and owners wishing to be listed can contact the Avalon Harbor Department; the list is posted on the city website. The city does not take part in the sales, and after a sale the Harbor Department must be notified so the Revocable Mooring Permit can be transferred. Under city regulations, a transfer requires the Harbor Master's written approval and payment of a transfer fee.
