Social Security Office in Des Moines Suspends In-Person Service on the Afternoon of Oct. 22; Phone Help Until 4 P.M.
The U.S. Social Security Administration's office closings and emergencies page shows that the Social Security office in Des Moines, Iowa (ZIP 50309), temporarily stopped all in-person service at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 22, with assistance still available by telephone until 4 p.m. that day.
The SSA did not state a reason for the afternoon suspension of in-person service at the Des Moines office. Also on Oct. 22, SSA offices in Tuba City, Arizona, and Cleburne, Texas, stopped in-person service during the day while keeping telephone assistance available.
