Snail Games: Dead Party Set for October 29 Steam Launch as Four-Player Co-op Zombie Defense Game
Culver City-based game publisher Snail Games (Nasdaq: SNAL) on October 21 issued a GlobeNewswire announcement rounding up the latest progress across its portfolio. The company confirmed that Dead Party, a four-player cooperative zombie survival game developed by German studio Radiation Blue in collaboration with Snail Games USA, is scheduled to launch on Steam on October 29. According to the publisher's October 15 release, the game will also arrive on the Epic Games Store the same day, with console versions to follow in the weeks after. Dead Party is set in the town of Shady Hill, where UFOs appear overhead on Halloween and the dead rise from their graves, leaving four heroes to defend their neighborhood together. Built around cooperative defense, the game has players scavenge for resources, build barricades, deploy traps and repel the undead with guitars and music-based abilities. It features four modes, Stage Equipment, Antenna, Skull Cannon and Horde, plus a Story Mode following four distinct characters, with support for online and local co-op. An expanded demo is playable during this week's Steam Next Fest, unlocking the previously unseen Museum stage once the other story stages are completed. The announcement also noted that interactive film title The Fame Game II: LA Heartbreaker, launched on Steam last week, has moved from a "Very Positive" rating at launch to "Overwhelmingly Positive," with more than 500 reviews. Snail Games is showing demos of two further indie titles, Whispers of West Grove and Veil of Madness, at Steam Next Fest, and last week presented its open-world science-fiction survival title For the Stars and fantasy open-world game 9 Yin Sutra: Immortal at IGN Fan Fest.
