The U.S. Department of State's Office of the Spokesman released a readout on October 21: Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke that day with Brunei Darussalam's Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Royal Highness Prince 'Abdul Mateen.
According to the readout, Secretary Rubio and Foreign Minister Prince Mateen discussed opportunities for increasing economic cooperation and building a high-tech future fueled by American innovation under the upgraded U.S.–Brunei Strategic Partnership. The readout disclosed no further details.
