迪士尼任命Carol Choi出任亚太区总裁：12月1日接替退休的Luke Kang

Disney Names Carol Choi President of Asia Pacific, Succeeding the Retiring Luke Kang on December 1
The Walt Disney Company announced on October 20 that Carol Choi, currently executive vice president of Disney Asia Pacific, will succeed Luke Kang as president of Asia Pacific, effective December 1. Kang is retiring after 16 years with the company.
Choi is a 20-year Disney veteran. In her current role she has overseen the region's studio business, original content strategy and integrated marketing. She previously served as managing director of Disney's businesses in Japan and Korea and held senior leadership positions in Greater China, playing a part in launching and expanding Disney+ across the region, growing the theatrical business and building partnerships with creative talent and production companies. As president, she will lead Disney Entertainment's portfolio across Greater China, Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, spanning studios, Disney+, local original productions, consumer products, media networks and content sales.
"Luke Kang has been an exceptional leader and a driving force behind Disney's growth and transformation across Asia Pacific," Alan Bergman, chair of Disney Entertainment, Studios, and Jimmy Pitaro, chair of ESPN, said in a joint statement. "Carol Choi is a proven Disney leader with broad operating experience, strong creative instincts, and a deep understanding of the region, and she is the perfect person to lead the organization into its next chapter."

"Asia Pacific is home to some of the world's most passionate fans and dynamic creative communities. I look forward to working with our teams and partners to bring exceptional stories and experiences to audiences, grow our businesses, and deepen Disney's connection with fans across the region." According to The Hollywood Reporter, the transition comes as Disney steps up investment in international originals, with Asia Pacific markets central to its streaming strategy.
