Spyre Presents First Clinical Data for All Three IBD Antibodies at UEGW 2026 in Barcelona
Waltham, Mass. — Spyre Therapeutics, Inc. (NASDAQ: SYRE), a clinical-stage biotechnology company based in Waltham, Massachusetts, announced on October 18 presentations at United European Gastroenterology Week (UEGW) 2026 in Barcelona, including the first scientific congress presentation of clinical data across all three of its IBD antibodies — SPY001 (anti-α4β7), SPY002 (anti-TL1A) and SPY003 (anti-IL-23) — which are being tested as monotherapies and pairwise combinations in the SKYLINE study, along with new preclinical data demonstrating additive efficacy of the complementary mechanisms.
The oral presentation, titled "Efficacy and Safety of Half-Life Extended Antibodies SPY001, SPY002, and SPY003 for Induction Treatment of Moderately to Severely Active Ulcerative Colitis," was scheduled for October 18, 3:30–3:40 p.m. CEST in Room B3, presented by Silvio Danese, M.D., Ph.D., of San Raffaele Hospital in Milan, who chairs the SKYLINE trial steering committee. A moderated poster on October 19 in Hall 7 presents data showing the three antibodies are efficacious in TNBS-induced colitis in humanized mice, with combinations further improving efficacy, presented by Andy Spencer, Ph.D., of Spyre.
Danese said that despite significant advances in IBD treatment, many patients still do not achieve or maintain the level of disease control clinicians would like to see, underscoring the need for new approaches that can deliver deeper and more durable responses. He said advanced combination therapy provides a strong probability of enhanced efficacy compared with today's monotherapies, and that with clinical proof-of-concept now demonstrated across SPY001, SPY002 and SPY003, the team is increasingly excited to see the combination results next year.
Spyre's pipeline includes investigational extended half-life antibodies targeting α4β7, TL1A, IL-23 and IL-17A/F, as well as rational combination programs. The company noted that its announcement contains forward-looking statements and that actual results may differ.
