California Treasurer Fiona Ma's Office Releases Highlights of Second Annual California Creates Manufacturing Forum, Held October 13 in Sacramento
SACRAMENTO — The Office of the State Treasurer released a news release on October 14 titled 'Second Annual California Creates Forum Highlights Growth Opportunities and Diversity in Manufacturing Sector.' The forum — California Creates: Golden State Manufacturing Forum — was held on October 13, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., at Aggie Square in Sacramento, hosted by the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority (CAEATFA), an authority under the State Treasurer's Office.
According to the Treasurer's Office forum materials, panel discussions and expert sessions covered funding options and California's capital stack, private and public finance options for powering manufacturing, trusted advisors, emerging industries including nuclear fusion, quantum computing and SI, and manufacturer success stories in the Golden State. Attendees also discussed navigating permitting and regulations, leveraging public-private partnerships, and adapting to global market forces such as tariffs, trade policy and supply chain disruptions. The forum featured nearly 50 expert panelists and speakers, including Treasurer Fiona Ma. The release's headline highlighted the forum's emphasis on growth opportunities and diversity in the manufacturing sector.
Fiona Ma is California's 34th State Treasurer, the first woman of color and the first woman Certified Public Accountant (CPA) elected to the position. The Treasurer's Office serves as the state's banker and agent of sale for all state bonds, processes more than $3 trillion in banking transactions annually and manages a $150 billion investment portfolio, while providing financing for schools, housing, recycling and waste management, alternative energy, hospitals and other projects.
