跟进：法国抗议日巴黎被捕人数升至191人 主办方称全法逾80万人上街

法国10月17日（周六）全国抗议日进入晚间，各方数字陆续更新。巴黎警察局口径显示，首都全天被捕人数逐时上升，至18时达到191人，其中约九成为成年人；法国内政部公布的全国被捕总数截至当晚仍停留在15时的272人，尚未发布全天最终统计，全国参与总人数亦未公布——内政部此前公布的参与数字仅为午间巴黎大区以外地区的32,800人。

主办方则给出了自己的最终统计：组织者称全法逾80万人上街。法国总工会（CGT）17时先称参与人数逾50万，其后与青年组织及「黄背心」组织汇总蒙彼利埃、斯特拉斯堡、里尔、波尔多、南特、马赛等大城市回报后，对齐至逾80万人的口径。这一数字为主办方统计，与内政部口径分开标注。

当天的抗议由前「黄背心」成员、高中生、大学生、气候活动人士与农民共同参与，诉求指向生活成本高涨，全法预告的行动在1,500至1,750起之间。总理勒科尔尼谴责抗议边缘出现的「极端强烈的暴力」。

巴黎方面，工会与「黄背心」队伍下午14时自共和国广场出发、前往克利希广场；游行开始前，数百名蒙面黑衣人士与警方发生冲突，警方动用催泪瓦斯与水炮，附近街道有车辆被焚；一支自发队伍试图前往爱丽舍宫方向，在加布里埃尔大道一带被警方驱散。巴黎全城部署了5,000多名警察与宪兵。

其他城市同日出现市政建筑受冲击的情况：里尔有示威者强行进入市政厅多处入口并造成破坏，附近一所中学的窗户被砸；马赛据初步估计有近2万人游行，数十人一度闯入市政厅，卡内比埃大道上一处市政警察站遭破坏，市长伯努瓦·帕扬对此予以谴责。里昂贝尔库广场旅游办公室当天早些时候被洗劫并纵火，本站此前已报道。

Follow-Up: Paris Arrests Rise to 191 on France Protest Day; Organizers Put Nationwide Turnout Above 800,000

As France's nationwide day of protests on Saturday, October 17 moved into the evening, updated figures emerged from several sources. The Paris police prefecture's count of arrests in the capital rose through the day to 191 by 6 p.m., about 90 percent of them adults. The Interior Ministry's nationwide arrest total, by contrast, still stood at the 272 reported at 3 p.m.; no full-day national tally had been published by the evening, and no national turnout figure had been released either — the ministry's only participation figure remained the midday count of 32,800 people outside the Paris region.

Organizers published their own final tally, putting nationwide turnout above 800,000. The CGT union first reported more than 500,000 participants at 5 p.m., then aligned with the figure of over 800,000 advanced by youth and Yellow Vest organizations after reports came in from major cities including Montpellier, Strasbourg, Lille, Bordeaux, Nantes and Marseille. That figure is the organizers' own count and is reported separately from official numbers.

The day's actions brought together former Yellow Vest members, high school and university students, climate activists and farmers over the cost of living, with between 1,500 and 1,750 actions announced across France. Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu denounced what he called violence of an extreme intensity on the margins of the protests.

In Paris, the union and Yellow Vest march set off from Place de la Republique at 2 p.m. toward Place de Clichy. Before it began, several hundred masked demonstrators in black clashed with police, who used tear gas and water cannon, and vehicles were set on fire in a nearby street; a spontaneous procession heading toward the Elysee Palace was pushed back and dispersed near Avenue Gabriel. More than 5,000 police officers and gendarmes were deployed in the capital.

Municipal buildings were targeted in other cities: in Lille, demonstrators forced their way into several entrances of the city hall and vandalized part of the premises, and windows of a nearby middle school were broken; in Marseille, where initial estimates put the march at nearly 20,000 people, several dozen protesters briefly entered the city hall and a municipal police station on the Canebiere was vandalized, which Mayor Benoit Payan denounced. In Lyon, the tourist office on Place Bellecour was ransacked and set on fire earlier in the day, as reported previously by GSM.

GSM reported the Interior Ministry's midday figure of 166 arrests and its 3 p.m. figure of 272 arrests earlier in the day, and will follow up if the ministry publishes a full-day final tally later in the evening or on Sunday. (GSM, based on Europe 1 live coverage and French media reports)
