Florida Woman Convicted on All 13 Counts in $2.9 Million 'Grant Bae' Fraud That Victimized More Than 1,000 People
The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Florida announced on October 9 that a federal jury in Jacksonville has found a Lake City, Florida, woman guilty of all charges in a 13-count indictment in a fraud scheme that stole approximately $2.9 million from more than 1,000 victims.
Treashonna P. Graham, 42, of Lake City, was convicted of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and multiple counts of wire fraud and money laundering. She faces up to 20 years in prison for the conspiracy and each wire fraud offense and up to 10 years' imprisonment for each money laundering offense. She will be sentenced on January 19, 2027. U.S. Attorney Gregory W. Kehoe made the announcement.
According to court records, Graham and her co-defendant, Joey Williams, created a company called 'Grant Bae,' which purportedly assisted minority business owners to obtain government grants. Graham charged a fee for her services and advised clients that the company was in the process of obtaining grant money on their behalf. The evidence at trial proved that Graham never hired companies to help locate or obtain grants, nor did she help to write any grant applications for her clients.
In total, Graham stole approximately $2.9 million and used those funds to live an extravagant lifestyle, purchasing vehicles, jewelry, clothing and other personal property. She also gambled away hundreds of thousands of dollars at local casinos. Williams previously pleaded guilty for his role in this case and is pending sentencing.
