家里催芽先查包装：同批次种子五天内两次召回，FDA称清洗也去不掉种子里的沙门氏菌
华盛顿10月5日——据FDA通报与LexBlog汇总，与Evergreen西兰花芽沙门氏菌疫情匹配的种子批次W4105，在五天之内触发第二次面向家庭催芽种子的召回，本次涉及Eden Brothers公司。此前召回的芽菜虽已过保质期，但种子保质期长、常存放在家庭储藏柜中，FDA因此特别提示家庭催芽者核对包装批次号。
FDA给出的处理要求很明确：被召回种子不要种植、不要催芽、不要食用，也不要用来培育微型蔬菜（microgreens）；应密封后丢入垃圾桶，并联系销售商申请退款。FDA解释，沙门氏菌可能藏在种子内部，清洗无法去除，而催芽所需的温暖潮湿环境恰恰会让细菌大量繁殖——这也是芽菜类食品反复成为疫情载体的原因。
本次疫情截至10月7日的联邦计数为六州32人感染、3人住院（详见本站医疗频道10月7日报道）。未从两起种子召回产品中报告新增病例。家庭催芽的常规卫生要点包括：只向有检测记录的供应商购种、催芽器具每次使用后彻底消毒、成品冷藏并尽快食用，高风险人群（孕妇、幼儿、老人与免疫力低下者）尽量避免生食芽菜。

Home Sprouters, Check the Packet: Same Seed Lot Recalled Twice in Five Days; Washing Won't Remove Salmonella, FDA Says
WASHINGTON, Oct. 5 — Seed lot W4105, matched by the FDA to the Evergreen broccoli sprout Salmonella outbreak, has triggered a second home-sprouting seed recall within five days, this one involving Eden Brothers, according to FDA postings summarized by LexBlog. The earlier recalled sprouts are past their use-by dates, but seed keeps far longer in a pantry, so the FDA is urging home sprouters to check the lot number printed on the packet.
The agency's instructions are explicit: do not plant, sprout, eat or grow microgreens from recalled seed; throw it away sealed in the trash and request a refund. Washing does not remove Salmonella from inside a seed coat, the FDA explains, and the warm, humid conditions sprouting requires are exactly what let the bacteria multiply — the reason sprouts recur as outbreak vehicles.
Federal counts for the outbreak stood at 32 illnesses in six states with three hospitalizations as of Oct. 7, with no illnesses reported from either seed recall. Routine precautions for home sprouting include buying seed from suppliers with testing records, sanitizing sprouting equipment after each use, refrigerating finished sprouts and eating them promptly; pregnant women, young children, older adults and the immunocompromised are advised to avoid raw sprouts.
