Salt Lake City's Myriad Genetics Releases New Cancer MRD Data: Results Head to ESMO Congress
Salt Lake City, Utah-based Myriad Genetics, Inc. (NASDAQ: MYGN) on October 22 released new data from the ongoing MONSTAR-SCREEN-3 study, showing the potential of its whole-genome sequencing-based Precise MRD platform for ultra-sensitive molecular residual disease detection in patients with resectable colorectal and pancreatic cancers.
In resectable colorectal cancer, ctDNA detected one month after surgery was strongly associated with disease progression; ctDNA was detected before clinical recurrence in all observed recurrence events, with a median lead time of four months, and more than half of post-surgical ctDNA-positive patients were identified below 100 parts per million. In pancreatic cancer, personalized panels were created for all evaluable patients, half reaching the maximum 1,000 variants, and patients with MRD detected one month after surgery had significantly worse recurrence-free survival.
Chief Scientific Officer Dale Muzzey said the data reinforce the potential of Precise MRD to bring more sensitive, personalized monitoring to cancers where recurrence is hard to identify early. The findings will be presented at the ESMO Congress 2026 on October 25.
