Visit Raleigh Names Loren Gold Next CEO; He Succeeds Retiring Dennis Edwards on January 1, 2027
Raleigh is a city in Wake County, North Carolina. Raleigh media reported on October 14 that the board of the Greater Raleigh Convention and Visitors Bureau, known as Visit Raleigh, voted unanimously to appoint Executive Vice President Loren Gold as its next president and CEO, effective January 1, 2027. Dennis Edwards, who has led the bureau for nearly two decades, will retire on December 31, 2026.
Gold will manage a 35-person organization with a $12.5 million budget and help implement Wake County's Destination Strategic Plan 2028. The board cited more than $2 billion in tourism infrastructure being developed in Wake County.
Visit Raleigh is Wake County's official destination marketing organization for conventions, sports and leisure travel. Gold's appointment is an internal promotion after long service with the bureau.
