Austin's Del Valle ISD Education Foundation Wins F1 Allwyn Global Community Award: €100,000 to Fund STEM Pathways for 12,000 Students
In Austin, Travis County, Texas, the Del Valle ISD Education Foundation announced on October 22 that it has won the F1 Allwyn Global Community Award at the 2026 Formula 1 MSC Cruises United States Grand Prix, receiving a €100,000 donation from lottery-led entertainment company Allwyn.
According to the GlobeNewswire release, the donation will directly fund the foundation's Fast Track initiative to expand teaching grants, student scholarships and STEM opportunities for 12,000 local students. Despite living in the shadow of Circuit of the Americas (COTA) and the high-tech industry, 85 percent of Del Valle students live in underserved communities and face systemic challenges that keep them from sharing in local prosperity. Fast Track is a ground-up workforce development plan that removes cost barriers to the tools students need, funds racing- and technology-themed STEM innovation grants, and connects high school classrooms with Austin's thriving technology and engineering sectors through workshops and field trips.
Tatiana Jouanneau, Allwyn's group chief brand officer and an award judge, said the project offers a direct route toward economic mobility for thousands of local young people. Ellen Jones, Formula 1's head of ESG and also a judge, praised the project for anchoring long-term accountability in trackable KPIs. Josh Thomas, the foundation's executive director, said the award allows the foundation to launch Fast Track, funding internships, scholarships and wraparound support to help students access life-changing opportunities. The foundation is the fifth organization recognized by the award in 2026. (GSM, based on the GlobeNewswire release)
