加州州长纽森在联合国发表讲话，称加州是世界第四大经济体、1945年联合国成立地旧金山所在州，也是全美27%人口为外国出生的多元州，实行的是“庆祝多样性”而非“容忍多样性”。
他抨击特朗普前一天在联大的演讲，称其“呼吁对9300万人进行种族灭绝”，“这一刻没有什么正常可言”。他自称加州是“全美最不特朗普的州”，并表示终结特朗普式政治的关键在于今年11月民主党夺回众议院，重建制衡体系。
讲话也聚焦气候议题。纽森批评继续补贴化石燃料是“补贴我们正试图解决的问题”，称气候挑战的答案“并不复杂”，呼吁各国正视燃煤与燃气的危害。
Newsom Speaks at UN, Slams Trump and Urges Democrats to Retake House
Governor Newsom addressed the United Nations, touting California as the world's fourth-largest economy, home of San Francisco where the UN was founded in 1945, and a state where 27% of residents are foreign-born.
He blasted Trump's UNGA address a day earlier, claiming it "called for a genocide of 93 million people," and called California "the most un-Trump state in America," urging Democrats to retake the House this November to restore checks and balances. He also pressed the climate case, criticizing fossil-fuel subsidies.
