U.S., Denmark, Greenland Sign Security Pact to Bolster Arctic Defense
Denmark, Greenland and the United States signed a security agreement at UN headquarters to strengthen the defense of Greenland, the NATO region and the American continent, Denmark's UN ambassador Markus Larsen announced during the UNGA general debate, calling it beneficial for Greenland, Denmark, the U.S., NATO and Europe. Greenland's Arctic strategic position has risen in recent years; the trilateral pact is seen as a significant step in Arctic security architecture.
