'Frank and Percy' World Premiere at London Film Festival
LONDON — The world premiere of the film Frank and Percy has been held during the BFI London Film Festival, according to a movie-news roundup published by One Mann's Movies on October 14, 2026. The gala screening took place at BFI Southbank.
Adapted from the hit West End play of the same name, the film is directed by Sean Mathias and stars Ian McKellen as Percy and Roger Allam as Frank. The story follows two lonely men who meet while walking their dogs on Hampstead Heath and slowly form an unlikely friendship. Mathias previously directed McKellen in a 2024 stage production of Hamlet.
The same roundup noted that the Rome Film Festival was opening and that Busan's Asian Contents & Film Market had announced its winners, making October a busy overlap of European and Asian festival calendars.
No wider release plans for Frank and Percy were announced in the report.
