圣贝纳迪诺10月13日——据内陆帝国本地媒体《The IE Voice》报道，圣贝纳迪诺市社区居民近日公开抗议市议会的一项决定：市议会以4比3投票通过许可，将一家现有大麻店迁至高地大道（Highland Avenue）新址，其对面即一处老年住房设施。
前市议员里克·范约翰逊（Rikke Van Johnson）与前州众议员谢丽尔·布朗（Cheryl Brown）等人在发言中表示，该选址周边有两座教会、一座图书馆，市政府还计划在高地大道与医疗中心大道（Medical Center Drive）路口对面的空地上建住房；第六区议员马里奥·弗洛雷斯（Mario Flores）在听证中已表示该地点不合适。布朗还指出，市学区曾于6月致信市议会强烈反对该选址，理由是学区的教育建筑距该店址仅500英尺，但信函在听证中未被提及。
抗议居民表示，此事关乎社区信任与问责——居民在影响自家社区的决策中意见是否被听取。市议会批准迁址许可的表决结果为4比3。

San Bernardino Residents Protest Cannabis Shop Relocation Approved 4-3 on Highland Avenue
SAN BERNARDINO, Oct. 13 — Community members in San Bernardino have publicly protested a City Council decision approving, by a 4-3 vote, the relocation of an existing cannabis shop to a new site on Highland Avenue, across from a senior housing facility, The IE Voice reported.
Former City Councilmember Rikke Van Johnson and former Assemblymember Cheryl Brown told city leaders the site sits near two churches and a library, and that the city is looking at building housing on the empty land across Highland Avenue at Medical Center Drive. Sixth Ward Councilmember Mario Flores had told the council during the hearing that the location was not suitable. Brown also said the city school district sent the council a letter in June strongly objecting to the location because the district's educational building stands 500 feet from the site, and that the letter was not mentioned during the hearing.
Residents speaking against the move framed the dispute as one of trust and accountability, asking whether neighborhood voices matter in decisions affecting the places where they live, worship, learn and raise their families. The relocation permit was approved despite those objections.
