菲律宾马尼拉电力公司（Meralco）10月13日宣布，将10月电价上调至每千瓦时15.0615比索。该公司为超过830万名用户供电，并表示已签约 확보足够电力供应，正在对设施进行维护。
菲律宾能源部长莎伦·加林警告，临近的厄尔尼诺现象可能使供需平衡承压，进而推高电价并引发停电。菲律宾大气、地球物理和天文服务局预计，本轮厄尔尼诺将在2026年底前后达到高峰，并持续至2027年初。
Meralco Raises October Power Rate to ₱15.0615 per kWh for Over 8.3 Million Customers
The Manila Electric Company (Meralco) announced on October 13 that it was raising its October power rate to ₱15.0615 per kilowatt-hour. The distributor serves more than 8.3 million customers and said it had contracted sufficient supply and was carrying out maintenance of its facilities.
Energy Secretary Sharon Garin warned that the approaching El Niño could contribute to higher electricity rates and outages by straining the balance between demand and supply. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration expected the event to peak toward the end of 2026 and persist into early 2027.
