纽约州130多所高校今秋免申请费 参与大学申请倡议
纽约州州长凯茜·霍楚10月13日宣布，全州130多所高校将参与2026年大学申请倡议，在10月至11月期间免收申请费，以降低学生升学成本。
州长办公室表示，去年同一倡议期间，全州学生共提交30多万份入学申请，免除的申请费为学生家庭节省超过1500万美元。今年参与院校数量进一步扩大，涵盖州立、市立与私立多类高校。
申请费减免适用于在倡议期内通过指定渠道提交申请的学生，具体院校名单与各自的减免时段由州教育部门公布。
霍楚表示，免除申请费旨在让更多学生敢于申请心仪院校，不因费用错过升学机会。各校招生办公室将提供申请指导服务。
More Than 130 New York Colleges Waive Application Fees This Fall
New York Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Oct. 13 that more than 130 colleges and universities across the state will take part in the 2026 College Application Initiative, waiving application fees in October and November to lower the cost of applying.
The governor's office said that during last year's initiative, students statewide submitted more than 300,000 applications, and waived fees saved families more than $15 million. More institutions are participating this year, spanning public and private colleges and universities.
The fee waivers apply to applications submitted through designated channels during the initiative period. The state education department is publishing the list of participating schools and each school's waiver window.
Hochul said the goal is to encourage more students to apply to schools they might otherwise skip because of fees. Admissions offices at participating colleges will offer application assistance.
