LOS ANGELES — Game 3 of the 2026 National League Championship Series is set for Wednesday, October 14 at 5 p.m. Pacific at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles. The Milwaukee Brewers won the first two games at home — 2-1 in Game 1 and 7-4 in Game 2 — to lead the best-of-seven series 2-0 over the Los Angeles Dodgers; two more wins would send Milwaukee to its first World Series in 44 years. Games 3 through 5 are in Los Angeles.
In Game 2, Brewers catcher William Contreras tied the game or put his team ahead in three different at-bats, including a 436-foot game-tying home run in the fifth inning and a go-ahead RBI single in the sixth. Dodgers starter Yoshinobu Yamamoto was knocked out after 2.2 innings and three runs, and Milwaukee's bullpen threw five hitless innings. The Brewers won a major league-best 103 games in the regular season.
The Dodgers, champions of the past two World Series, are hitting just .193 this postseason and are 2-for-26 with runners in scoring position, managing only three hits in Game 2. According to Reuters' October 13 report, Shohei Ohtani is batting .150 (3-for-20) with seven strikeouts and no extra-base hits while playing through problems with his left knee, right biceps and neck; manager Dave Roberts said he would talk with Ohtani about how to use him, and The Athletic reported the club is considering sitting Ohtani for Game 3, with rookie Josue De Paula likely to take over at designated hitter.
