Tampa Nonprofit's Weekend Beach Cleanup Hauls Away 247 Pounds of Trash
According to WFTS Tampa Bay 28 on October 13, a Tampa nonprofit held a cleanup on the morning of Sunday, October 11, at Picnic Island beach, collecting a total of 247 pounds of trash. Volunteers worked along the shoreline and hauled away more than 200 pounds of debris, in an effort to protect the Tampa Bay coastal environment.
The report also noted that Tampa Bay just came off a cool, dry weekend, with low humidity and sunny fall weather set to continue this week — morning temperatures in the 50s and 60s and afternoon highs in the 80s, ideal for outdoor activities.
