赫米特一栋民宅起火：消防员搜救时发现一名住户已死亡，起火原因仍在调查

One Dead in Hemet House Fire: Firefighters Found an Occupant During Search, Cause Still Under Investigation
The City of Hemet issued a press release (No. 2026-022) on Oct. 12: at about 5:23 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 10, the Hemet Fire Department responded to a reported residential structure fire in the 2800 block of Fruitvale Avenue.
On arrival, firefighters found a single-story residence with heavy black smoke coming from the structure. Crews began an aggressive fire attack and conducted search operations at the same time. The fire was contained to the residence and did not spread to nearby structures. During the search, firefighters located one occupant, and the city confirmed one fatality in connection with the fire.
The release did not identify the victim. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and the city said additional information will be released as it becomes available and is authorized for public release. The Hemet Fire Department extended its condolences to the family and others affected.
