阿肯色农村健康计划再拨款：推广服务获265万美元，预计每年惠及3万至5万农村居民
小石城消息：阿肯色大学农业推广服务局获得联邦「农村健康转型计划」265万美元拨款，用于实施名为 ROOT 的农村健康项目。ROOT 是「农村外联、机会与转型」的英文缩写，项目覆盖儿童健康、慢性病管理和健康素养等领域，预计每年触达3万至5万名农村居民、联动300多个合作伙伴、开展2000多场健康促进活动。
这笔拨款是州长萨拉·赫卡比·桑德斯9月24日在州长官邸仪式上宣布的5460万美元第二轮农村健康转型拨款的一部分；阿肯色州今年已从该联邦计划获得2.08亿美元。州卫生厅长蕾妮·马洛里表示，这批拨款将支持可推广的本土策略，改善营养、增加体育活动并减少社区慢性病。
推广服务局在全州75个县均设有人员，拥有逾百年服务农村社区的网络。项目助理教授杰西卡·文森特表示，工作将由社区居民共同塑造，让 ROOT 反映地方的优势和优先事项，而不是只带来外部想法。

Arkansas Rural Health Push: Extension Service Wins $2.65 Million ROOT Grant Within $54.6 Million State Award Round
LITTLE ROCK — The University of Arkansas Cooperative Extension Service has received a $2.65 million grant from the federal Rural Health Transformation Program for a project called ROOT of Rural Health — ROOT stands for Rural Outreach, Opportunity, and Transformation. The program spans childhood wellness, chronic disease and health literacy, and is expected to reach 30,000 to 50,000 rural residents annually, engage more than 300 partners and deliver over 2,000 health-promotion activities.
The grant is part of $54.6 million in second-round Rural Health Transformation Program awards announced by Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders at a Sept. 24 ceremony at the Governor's Mansion. Arkansas has received $208 million from the federal program this year. State Health Secretary Renee Mallory said the awards back scalable, homegrown strategies to improve nutrition, increase physical activity and reduce chronic disease.
Extension agents are present in all 75 Arkansas counties, backed by more than a century of work in rural communities. Assistant professor Jessica Vincent said local residents will help shape the work so ROOT reflects local strengths and priorities rather than outside ideas alone.
