纽森宣布加州已大幅削减托儿成本：三口之家补贴托儿年费从约7000美元降至零
萨克拉门托——加州州长纽森10月12日发布新闻稿，引述加州公共政策研究所（PPIC）的最新数据称，自2019年本届政府上任以来，加州已大幅削减家庭托儿成本，为家庭省下数千美元。州长办公室表示，加州已削减托儿费用、扩大免费的普及过渡幼儿园（Universal Transitional Kindergarten），并出台多项支持工薪家庭的激励措施。
根据PPIC的图表，以年收入6万美元的三口之家为例，其补贴托儿的全日制年度家庭费用，已从2019–20学年的约7000美元降至2025–26学年的0美元（数字经通胀调整）。纽森表示：“养孩子不该让家庭破产。自2019年以来，我们压低了成本，扩大了可负担托儿的覆盖面，让每个四岁孩子都能免费上过渡幼儿园，并扩建了课前课后项目。”他称这份报告证明州政府“把真金白银放回了家庭的口袋”。
州长办公室列出的措施还包括：通过“扩展学习机会计划”为TK至6年级学生增加课前、课后及暑期项目；新增约14.9万个补贴托儿名额，并向服务商发放3800笔补助以改善设施、扩充容量；结合CalWORKs等项目，州政府在儿童保育与学前教育上的相关投入约20亿美元；加州还是全美第一个保证每名公立学校学生每天两顿免费餐食的州，迄今已提供35亿份免费餐食。此外，带薪家庭假已从6周延长至8周，年收入低于6.5万美元的合资格工人休假期间可领取最高90%的工资替代。
对南加华人家庭而言，托儿与学前费用是育儿成本的大头。州长办公室提醒，合资格家庭可通过当地资源与转介机构查询补贴托儿名额和过渡幼儿园报名信息。

Newsom Says California Has Slashed Childcare Costs, Saving Families Thousands
SACRAMENTO — Governor Gavin Newsom on October 12 highlighted new information from the Public Policy Institute of California (PPIC) showing that childcare costs in California have fallen significantly since the start of his administration in 2019.
According to PPIC's chart, for a family of three earning $60,000, annual full-time family fees for subsidized childcare fell from roughly $7,000 under the 2019–20 schedule to $0 under the 2025–26 schedule, adjusted for inflation. "Raising a child shouldn't break the bank," Newsom said. "Since 2019, we've driven costs down, expanded access to affordable childcare, made transitional kindergarten free for every four-year-old, and built out before- and after-school programs so parents and kids can thrive."
The Governor's office said California has added approximately 149,000 subsidized childcare slots and 3,800 grants to providers to improve facilities and expand capacity, alongside roughly $2 billion in related investment including CalWORKs. Other measures cited include expanded before- and after-school and summer programming through the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program; universal free school meals — California was the first state to guarantee every public-school student two free meals a day and has served 3.5 billion free meals; and paid family leave extended from six to eight weeks, with eligible workers earning under $65,000 able to receive up to 90% wage replacement.
