R/S-Godwin Truck Body Co. Expanding in Floyd County With $17 Million Investment, 65 New Jobs
FLOYD COUNTY, Ky. — R/S-Godwin Truck Body Co., a fourth-generation family-owned truck equipment manufacturer founded in 1968 and part of the Godwin Group, will expand its Floyd County operation with an investment of more than $17 million, creating 65 full-time jobs paying an average of $35.84 per hour including benefits.
The Kentucky Economic Development Finance Authority (KEDFA) has preliminarily approved a 15-year Kentucky Business Investment incentive agreement tied to the project, with tax incentives of up to $150,000. Such incentives are typically paid only as the company meets its investment and job targets. Company CEO Ryan Taylor and Floyd County Judge/Executive Robbie Williams joined the announcement.
The Governor's office said manufacturing investment continues to flow into regions including Eastern Kentucky, bringing above-average-wage jobs to local communities.
