Abbott to Join Fireside Chat at University Lands Energy Forum in Odessa on October 13
AUSTIN, Texas — Governor Greg Abbott will travel to Odessa on Tuesday, October 13, to participate in a fireside chat at the University Lands Energy Forum, according to a media advisory from the Governor's office.
Abbott will be joined by Stuart W. Stedman, chair of the University Lands Advisory Board and a regent of the University of Texas System. The event takes place at the Odessa Marriott Hotel & Conference Center (Permian Conference Room, 305 E 5th St, Odessa, TX 79761), with media check-in at 3:50 p.m. and the chat at 4:20 p.m.
University Lands manages roughly 2.1 million acres held for the University of Texas and Texas A&M systems, with oil and gas income feeding the systems' permanent funds. The forum is being held in the heart of the Permian Basin, the nation's most important shale play, and energy development and land revenues are expected to be the focus of the conversation.
