MILWAUKEE — Game 1 of the National League Championship Series is set for Sunday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m. PT at American Family Field, where the Los Angeles Dodgers visit the Milwaukee Brewers live on FOX. It is the second straight year these two teams meet in the NLCS.
Milwaukee won a major-league-best 103 games and holds home-field advantage; the Dodgers won 100 games and are the two-time defending World Series champions. Los Angeles swept Milwaukee in last year's NLCS en route to the title — the Brewers are out for revenge and chasing the first World Series crown in franchise history.
How they got here: the Dodgers eliminated the Atlanta Braves 3-1 in the NLDS, reaching their third straight NLCS and eighth in 11 years under Dave Roberts; the Brewers dispatched the San Diego Padres 3-1 behind a pitching staff fronted by NL Cy Young frontrunner Jacob Misiorowski.
The schedule: Games 1-2 in Milwaukee (Oct. 11-12), Games 3-5 at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles (Oct. 14-16), with Games 6-7 back in Milwaukee if necessary. Best-of-seven, with the winner advancing to the World Series starting Oct. 23.
The stakes: a Dodgers three-peat versus a first-time champion — dynasty continuation against coronation. It is the series to watch this October.
